Let’s talk about Sprint Planning
As per my experience, a sprint planning can not guarantee you of successful sprint but a successful sprint can not happen without the effective sprint planning.
Let’s dive more in the sprint planning !
What is Sprint Planning ?
In scrum, our sprints are normally 2–4 weeks. A sprint planning meeting is where the whole team (Scrum Master , Product Owner and Scrum Team) meets to discuss which backlog items could be handled in the next sprint.
This is a collaborative meeting where everyone has a say in the work when it should happen.
What should be prepared before the sprint planning ?
a. Prepare the backlog — Product owner should groom all the existing product backlog, normally known as backlog grooming or backlog refinement.
b. Estimating the stories — Once Product Owner has prepared the backlog, it’s important to estimate the efforts for each item in the backlog
c. Velocity of the team — Team’s velocity depends on how long the team has worked together, how many backlog items have been prepared to complete, and how effectively the sprint is planned
